Jon & Abbie is a collaboration between Jon Sandman (of Pylon Heights: synth-washed indie rock) and Abbie Loosemore (of Maud: post-rock shoegaze). Our influences include Simon & Garfunkel, Sufjan Stevens, Julia Jacklin, The xx, Father John Misty, Warpaint, and Foals.

Jon and his best friend Chris formed 'Pylon Heights' back in 2016, after Jon finished university. After an awful lot of faffing about, the duo first started putting out feelers in October 2019, with their debut single 'Arizona'. Since then, they released 3 more singles ahead of their very first EP, 'The Arizona EP'. They've since been joined by Heather, on vocals, for their latest singles 'Midsummer' and 'The Bridge'.

Pylon Heights' influences include Bear's Den, The National, Public Service Broadcasting, Beirut, and Bombay Bicycle Club.

However, ‘Midsummer’ and ‘The Bridge’ take us in a different direction - a blend of our more acoustic tendencies with my obsession with synthpop, inspired by bands such as Miami Horror, Big Black Delta and Joywave. We’ve been told there might be a bit of early The 1975 in there, too.
